Wieder einmal gibt der Autor seine völlige Unkenntnis sowohl über die Kriegführung im 20. Jahrhundert als auch über das jeweils umkämpfte Land zum besten. Wo marschiert bitteschön eine Guerilla-Armee als geschlossene Streitmacht durch das Land und erobert Ort um Ort, statt sich in kleinen Gruppen überall zu verteilen? Warum lassen sich die Briten zu Tausenden mit Schwertern, Pfeilen und anderen mittelalterlichen Waffen niedermetzeln? Warum werden die Generäle der einzelnen Parteien und selbst Dankenfels immer als "Feldherren" bezeichnet? Warum erkennen die Amerikaner in den Deutschen keine Deutschen, ich glaube doch dass die irische Sprache völlig anders klingt als das gewöhnliche englisch. Und Städte sind wieder einmal nur anonyme Namen auf der Landkarte.Aber die Krönung von allem ist die "Schlacht der fünf Heere". Völlig idiotisch treffen fünf Streitmächte ohne Aufklärung, Artillerie und allem in der Wildnis aufeinander. Hier genügt es wohl zu sagen, dass der Autor keine Ahnung von Panzer-Attrappen hat.
Viel-, Schnell- und Edel-Trash-Schreiber Christian Schwochert wird von manchen Rezensenten schwer kritisiert bis verrissen, weil er unrealistisch schreibt. Warum jedoch sollten Fiction-Romane unbedingt realistisch sein? Wichtiger ist es, daß sie unterhaltsam sind. Denken Sie nur etwa an Karl May: Dessen Bücher sind äußerst unrealistisch und dennoch höchst unterhaltsam. Natürlich will ich damit beide Autoren nicht auf die gleiche Stufe stellen: Karl May ist viel besser, aber Christian Schwochert ist auch nicht schlecht.„Der Untergang Dublins“ ist die Fortsetzung von „Sinn Féin und IRA“, und ist der zweite Band von „Aufstand in Irland“. Hans von Dankenfels, Offizier des Deutschen Kaisers, Held und bester Soldat der Welt, überlebt den tödlichen Sprung ins kalte Wasser (im 1. Band) und kämpft weiterhin heldenhaft zusammen mit den Iren gegen die Engländer. Dublin brennt. Das Deutsche Kaiserreich schickt eine weitere Truppe unter Erwin Rommel nach Irland. Der Freiheitskampf der Iren geht mit deutscher Hilfe weiter...
